Heart Attack Risks – Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is a condition that results from the force of your blood pressure against your arteries. If you haven’t had your blood pressure checked, there is a chance you are suffering from hypertension. This will give an overview of the symptoms of high blood pressure so you can be aware.
Usually people ignore high blood pressure. Even those who take medicine, only take anti hypertensive medication for short time. Studies have proved that 90% of high blood pressure patients show non compliance with their medication. If you will not control your blood pressure it may lead to serious problems with your Heart, Kidneys, Brain and Eyes. If you want to save these vital organs, then you will have to control your blood pressure with in limits.
Normal blood pressure is 120/80. If this reading goes above 140/90, then you consider yourself as a hypertensive patient. Between 120 and 140 is a pre hypertensive stage. which can be controlled even by natural measures like exercise, low salt intake, stop smoking, lower cholesterol, eat vegetables etc.
Normal limits are up to 120/80. Patients who have a blood pressure in the range of 120-140 are considered at risk, and those with a pressure over 140/90 make you a hypertensive patient. The midrange is still manageable with a few lifestyle changes.
For those a risky range in blood pressure, it’s important to stop smoking, increase exercise, and change diet. By adding healthy foods and lowering salt intake, combined with exercise, your healthier lifestyle can lower your blood pressure, often without medication.
High blood pressure / hypertension is often referred to as the Silent Killer. Since there are often no real identifiable signs, or symptoms that are hard to identify, many are overlooked. If you have headaches or dizziness, flushing, fatigue or frequent nosebleeds, you may want to have your blood pressure checked.
The best way to gauge your blood pressure is to have it measured. There are many places to have this done for no charge. Often drug stores will take your blood pressure with a freestanding tester, or you can visit a fire-hall or ambulance station and have it taken by a paramedic on duty.
When you have accurate knowledge of your medical condition and you find yourself at risk, take action. First, if you are smoking, you must end this practice. This can have a tremendous effect on your overall health. Second, lower your cholesterol. This will greatly increase your chances of lowering the risk of heart attack and other related problems. Finally start or increase your exercise program. Even if it is just a walk around the block, exercise can be a big help in strengthening your body.
It is imperative to understand that while high blood pressure can go unrecognized for year, the damage can be devastating. Visit your doctor regularly to have your blood pressure monitored.
