Makeup minerals can be confusing. In the past year those has been so much media hype about mineral makeup that everyone is looking for natural mineral remedies. However, not all makeup minerals are good. Some of the most popular are totally ineffective. If you choose to use these mineral makeups, they may cause some difficulties.
Many people want to get the most out of the minerals in their makeup. You probably don’t want to switch over to this type of makeup. Maybe earth minerals is what they need. The anti-aging benefits could be what they are looking for. Or they may just want to steer clear of the makeup minerals that cause problems.
You need to understand the ramifications of the mineral content of your makeup. See below for a short list of makeup minerals. You will understand your makeup’s contents after reading this.
• Zinc and zinc oxide
These are quite typical ingredients in mineral makeup products. Zinc and Zinc Oxide are naturally occurring sunscreens. They can also be a great help in hiding wrinkles and smoothing your skin out. In there pure form, they will not hurt your skin.
• Titanium dioxide
This is also common in pure mineral makeups. Your complexion will be smooth if you use this type of pure minerals. You may want to try some pure mineral makeup with this added if you have acne or rosacea Watch out for imitation ingredients as they will result in the makeup being less hypoallergenic.
• Mica
The anti-aging mineral that is added to these natural makeups is Mica. Wrinkles will reflect the light when using mineral makeup with this in it. This mineral distracts the attention away from skin problems. When this mineral is added to makeup, it is ground up so fine that you can’t tell its there. You can usually find mica in most non-mineral makeups.
• Bismuth
Bismuth has always been an issue when using in mineral makeup. It is a natural mineral. However, it has to be processed to be used in mineral makeup. It is very hard to just grind this mineral into a powder. There are some that say it should not even be an earth mineral. Users tend to really love the “glow” that it creates. However, if you tend to sweat or have sensitive skin you may not want to use mineral makeups containing this mineral, as it will make you itch.
• Talc
Talc is known as one a timeless makeup mineral. Talc has always had a major part in all makeup since the beginning of makeup. However, many people are allergic to talc. This mineral is mainly used as a filler. If you use common makeups, then you are definitely using some talc. More often than not, mineral makeups exclude talc even though it is a makeup mineral because it is known as a common allergen.
