Smart cosmetics shoppers know that the best mineral makeup is unlike the rest of the mineral makeup offerings. There are myriad reasons to buy mineral makeup, including:

* Mineral makeup use can ease symptoms of adult acne and rosacea over time

* Mineral makeup has a natural SPF of 15

* Mineral makeup gives you a more natural look than other types of cosmetics

* Mineral makeup can be worn heavy or light as you prefer

* Mineral makeup lasts all day no matter what you are doing

* You can actually sleep in some mineral makeup products

You should be aware that just buying a product labeled “mineral makeup” is not good enough.

To get the best benefits, you need to get the best mineral makeup possible. This does not necessarily imply that these makeup products will be the most expensive. It does mean though that they have special qualities other mineral makeup products may not.

Here are some good ways to find the best mineral makeup on the market:

* Look out for artificial colors and fragrances - The best mineral makeup products contain zero artificial colors and fragrances. This does not mean that you cannot enjoy bright colors in mineral makeup. It just means that you should not see ingredients like “yellow dye # 5” in the ingredients list.

* Avoid talc - Lots of makeup lines have labeled themselves “mineral makeup” because they contain large amounts of talc. Talc is actually a mineral. However, talc is also frequently used as a filler to bulk up makeup and is a common allergen. The best mineral makeup will not contain talc.

* Mica, Zinc and Titanium are all positive signs - Mica can reduce the appearance of wrinkles by deflecting light from them. Titanium and zinc naturally create an SPF barrier of 15. These are all “earth minerals” and have not been chemically processed.

The best mineral makeup products may not contain much other than these ingredients.

* Look for short ingredients lists - The best mineral makeup lines are simple. You should try to buy products with lists of ingredients that reflect this. Often mineral makeup lines will have as few as five components.

Depending on the array of colors available, you may need a few more ingredients. However, the rule stands that in general, simpler is better.

Attention to detail goes a long way when you are looking for the best in mineral cosmetics.
